Oak sind großes Kino, das ist kein platter Satz auf irgendeinem Flyer, das kann man selbst hören, spüren und erfahren. Alles begann mit der pfälzer Urgewalt der sehr umtriebigen Band Nullart. Anfang 2002 war diese Energie-Ikone Geschichte, doch Geschichte wiederholt sich - so entschieden sich drei der Nullart´ler, Oak ins Leben zu rufen, mit Stützpunkt in Karlsruhe.

Es war nicht schwer, Begeisterung zu entwickeln: Nach der ersten Probe im Mai und dem ersten Release “Final Day” kamen dann Mitte 2003 die ersten richtig großen Shows dazu, u.a. mit Darkest Hour, Walls Of Jericho, The Red Chord, Costa´s Cake House und Kaospilot, ehe sich die Jungs ins Studio verkrochen.

Hart sollte es werden, das neue “Teil” - und was heraus kam, ist schon unglaublich: Fünf schleppend-groovende Songs auf Metalcore- und Stonerbasis, mit krassen Gesangswechseln und eingängigen Melodien und Hooklines. Da läuft der Kopffilm unaufhörlich.

Verzahnt, gelappt, sperrig, abgefahren, straight nach vorne, aufs Maul -
Darkest Hour, Zao, aber auch ein Touch Queens Of The Stone Age, Cave-In oder andere Referenzsprenkel werden eingeträufelt.

Früchte
Genau diese sollen jetzt geerntet werden.

Oak are big-time players in the large, this is no silly statement on any bulletin, you can actually listen, feel, and experience it yourself. Everything began with the Palatine elemental force of the very active band Nullart. In the beginning of 2002, this energy icon was history, but history repeats itself - so three of the Nullart boys decided to create Oak, with base in Karlsruhe.

strong
It wasn’t difficult to develop strong enthusiasm. After their first rehearsal in May and their first release „Final Day“, in mid-2003 the first really big shows came up, e.g. with Darkest Hour, Walls Of Jericho, The Red Chord, Costa’s Cake House and Kaospilot, before the boys crawled into the studio.

hard
The new “thing“ was supposed to be hard - and the result was something unbelievable: Five grinding-grooving songs on a Metalcore and Stoner basis, with extreme vocal changes, catchy melodies and hooklines. The head film runs and runs.

lobed
Interlocked, lobed, bulky, far out, straight to the point and in your face - Darkest Hour, Zao, also a certain touch of Queens Of The Stone Age, Cave In, or other individual reference points of Progressive Rock are instilled.
